Ïîñòàíîâëåíèåì Ãîñóäàðñòâåííîãî êîìèòåòà ñòàíäàðòîâ Ñîâåòà Ìèíèñòðîâ ÑÑÑÐ îò 5 ôåâðàëÿ 1974 ã. ¹ 348 ñðîê ââåäåíèÿ óñòàíîâëåí ñ 01.01.75 Íàñòîÿùèé ñòàíäàðò óñòàíàâëèâàåò ïðèìåíÿåìûå â íàóêå, òåõíèêå è ïðîèçâîäñòâå ëàêîêðàñî÷íûõ ìàòåðèàëîâ òåðìèíû è îïðåäåëåíèÿ îñíîâíûõ ïîíÿòèé íåîðãàíè÷åñêèõ ïèãìåíòîâ è íàïîëíèòåëåé. Òåðìèíû, óñòàíîâëåííûå íàñòîÿùèì ñòàíäàðòîì, îáÿçàòåëüíû äëÿ ïðèìåíåíèÿ â äîêóìåíòàöèè âñåõ âèäîâ, ó÷åáíèêàõ, ó÷åáíûõ ïîñîáèÿõ, òåõíè÷åñêîé è ñïðàâî÷íîé ëèòåðàòóðå.  îñòàëüíûõ ñëó÷àÿõ ïðèìåíåíèå ýòèõ òåðìèíîâ ðåêîìåíäóåòñÿ. Äëÿ êàæäîãî ïîíÿòèÿ óñòàíîâëåí îäèí ñòàíäàðòèçîâàííûé òåðìèí. Ïðèìåíåíèå òåðìèíîâ-ñèíîíèìîâ ñòàíäàðòèçîâàííîãî òåðìèíà çàïðåùàåòñÿ. Íåäîïóñòèìûå ê ïðèìåíåíèþ òåðìèíû-ñèíîíèìû ïðèâåäåíû â ñòàíäàðòå â êà÷åñòâå ñïðàâî÷íûõ è îáîçíà÷åíû «Íäï». Äëÿ îòäåëüíûõ ñòàíäàðòèçîâàííûõ òåðìèíîâ â ñòàíäàðòå ïðèâåäåíû â êà÷åñòâå ñïðàâî÷íûõ èõ êðàòêèå ôîðìû, êîòîðûå ðàçðåøàåòñÿ ïðèìåíÿòü â ñëó÷àÿõ, èñêëþ÷àþùèõ âîçìîæíîñòü èõ ðàçëè÷íîãî òîëêîâàíèÿ.  ñòàíäàðòå â êà÷åñòâå ñïðàâî÷íûõ ïðèâåäåíû èíîñòðàííûå ýêâèâàëåíòû íà íåìåöêîì (D), àíãëèéñêîì (Å) è ôðàíöóçñêîì (F) ÿçûêàõ äëÿ ðÿäà ñòàíäàðòèçîâàííûõ òåðìèíîâ.  ñòàíäàðòå ïðèâåäåíî ñïðàâî÷íîå ïðèëîæåíèå, â êîòîðîì ñîäåðæàòñÿ òåðìèíû è îïðåäåëåíèÿ ñâîéñòâ ïèãìåíòîâ è íàïîëíèòåëåé, ÿâëÿþùèåñÿ îáùèìè äëÿ ìíîãèõ îòðàñëåé ïðîìûøëåííîñòè.  ñòàíäàðòå ïðèâåäåíû àëôàâèòíûå óêàçàòåëè ñîäåðæàùèõñÿ â íåì òåðìèíîâ íà ðóññêîì ÿçûêå è èõ èíîñòðàííûõ ýêâèâàëåíòîâ. Ñòàíäàðòèçîâàííûå òåðìèíû íàáðàíû ïîëóæèðíûì øðèôòîì, íåäîïóñòèìûå ñèíîíèìû - êóðñèâîì.
